NIT Durgapur lines up a bouquet of experts for its guest sessions series E-Talks
Beauty queens, educators, investors, social media influencers, comedians, authors – E-Talks, the online guest sessions at E-Summit 2021, hosted by National Institute of Technology (NIT), Durgapur, was a melting pot of knowledge and hands-on experience.
YouTuber and educator Aman Dhattarwal, the keynote speaker at E-Talks, broke down career building, its myths and challenges for students.
“Whatever you have been taught about life -- whether it’s career, relationships, right and wrong – anything that you haven’t experienced first-hand should be done away with. Approach the next few years on a clean slate. Learn from your personal experiences, books and mentors, and your life will change,” he told students attending the virtual session.

Highlights from the other guest speakers at E-Talks:
-- Entrepreneur and investor Farrhad Acidwalla spoke about youth entrepreneurship, the dos and don’ts, and why age should not be a deterrent to starting up.
-- Shramona Poddar, travel and lifestyle content creator on Instagram, spoke about navigating a creative profession, and quitting her corporate job in its pursuit. “I refused to be in a place that didn’t give me enough contentment. If that required me to choose something unconventional and defy the societal norms, then so be it,” she said.
-- YouTuber and comedian Satish Ray shared insights into his popular characters. “I don’t want to conform to tropes. The humour in my videos is a bit layered and needs to be decoded as I believe everyone should have their unique voice in this space and be consistent with it,” he stressed.
-- MissMalini.com founder Malini Agarwal spoke about how things transformed from a WordPress blog to a mammoth lifestyle and entertainment empire.
“I always wanted to celebrate entertainment and our favourite stars, instead of making it a gossip column. Our content gives you an inside peek, the fun-and-games, the relatability which people were not usually covering in the entertainment business,” she said. Her latest initiative, Girl Tribe, is a positive digital networking space for women.
-- Digital content creator Vishnu Kaushal spoke about building a brand on social media, saying, “As a creator, there is no set formula for fame. You need a balance of authenticity and skill.”
-- Miss Universe India 2010 and model Ushoshi Sengupta spoke about the challenges she faced and her learnings.
“Networking helps everybody in every industry. Every business or art is about reaching out to people. So if you don’t expand your business outside your locality, or share your art with anyone outside your living room, then you can’t define the value that your work holds,” she said.
-- Barry Howard Minkin, author and management consultant, dwelt on the factors that allowed him to develop market forecasts, strategies and global future trends. You can watch his talk here: https://www.facebook.com/492547407592079/videos/497293018315707
