The finals of 6 events to be held offline at Gyan Manch on October 9
Students are all set to return to stage after two years as Script Productions is hosting the finals of the Calcutta Youth Meet: Chapter 5, in association with ABP Education, at Gyan Manch on October 9.
Script Productions is an independent group of school and college students from across India who share a passion for media in general and films in particular.
“Calcutta is way more than its vintage brick-and-mortar buildings, landscaped parks with blue-and-white railings. To celebrate and recognise the talents of youngsters, we are organising the Calcutta Youth Meet: Chapter 5,” said Shinjan Mitra, founder, Script Production.
The prelims were held virtually in July and August. The events were divided into four categories --- literary arts, performing arts, fine arts and informal events. A total of 1,840 students from various colleges of Kolkata participated in the prelims.
Slam poetry, creative writing, quiz, newsroom debate and corporate lunch competitions were part of the literary arts category. Under the segment of the fine art were mandala art, pride makeup, face painting, poster making and drawing competition. Finally, the informal category consisted of beatboxing, photography.
The final round of 6 competitions are scheduled to be held onstage --- Terpsichorean Twist (dance competition), Battle Of Bands (western band competition), Act-A-Play (street play competition), The Devil Wears Prada (fashion show), Miss Calcutta (fashion and fame competition where participants will have to perform alone), and Kolkata’r Guptodhon (Treasure Hunt). The winners of the other events will be announced on stage after the finals.
