Curriculum to include design thinking and innovation, idea generation and ideal hand-holding, intellectual property rights, product development
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the Innovation Ambassador Online Teaching Programme, a formal teaching course for educators.
The programme has been established in association with the education ministry’s innovation cell and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
The course curriculum will include four modules — design thinking and innovation, idea generation and ideal hand-holding, intellectual property rights, product/prototype development.
Around 50,000 teachers from CBSE-affiliated schools will be trained as Innovation Ambassadors and they in turn will foster a culture of innovation in schools across the country. Other responsibilities will include mentoring fellow teachers and students, providing support to other schools as resource persons and acting as evaluators for national-level idea competitions.
The online teaching programme is scheduled to be launched formally on May 13 and its first batch will begin on May 17.
“Teachers will be selected on the basis of their credentials and only the selected teachers will be informed about their batch, date and timing of training through email in advance (on the email ID of the school SPOC provided at the time of registration),” said CBSE officials.
