Partnership aims to jointly discover solutions to cure brain diseases
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (AVV) and the European Union’s (EU) Human Brain Project (HBP) have teamed up to conduct studies to understand the functions of the human brain and discover solutions to cure brain diseases.
AVV’s Amrita Mind Brain Centre (AMBC) and Switzerland’s Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) will jointly work towards the development of latest technologies to study brain functions in collaboration with Italy’s University of Pavia and France’s Aix-Marseille University.
Shyam Diwakar, project director and associate professor, said a new computational tool using cellular data-driven models will be developed to trigger functional signals in the brain.
The project will continue till 2030, and the first phase is likely to complete by October 2021, according to an official release.
