Parents, teachers to access attendance data
The Andhra Pradesh government has launched a mobile app to monitor the attendance of school students. This app is meant to alert parents or guardians if students fail to attend schools. The alert will also be sent to the ward volunteers of their respective jurisdiction. To ascertain the reason, a volunteer will visit the household of those students who are absent for more than two days.
The app reviews students’ attendance and that can be accessed by both teachers and parents. A monthly attendance review meeting will also be held under the presence of the parents’ committee, ward volunteers and education and welfare assistant.
The state government has also sanctioned an amount of Rs 445 crore for an additional toilet fund to ensure healthy sanitation practices in government schools.
