Promise of affordable healthcare and nutritious food for children
Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal has urged parents, teachers and other stakeholders to work together to secure the future of children and protect them from exploitation.
He was addressing a delegation of UNICEF officials and children as part of World Children’s Day celebrations on November 21.
The state government would strive towards providing quality and affordable education to all children, including those from vulnerable conditions, he said.
Sonowal said steps have already been taken for setting up more than 100 high schools in tea gardens. Scholarships are on the cards for specially abled students. Steps have been taken to provide affordable healthcare and nutritious food to the children and protect them from violence.
