No details yet on format and timing of exams
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will definitely conduct the class X and XII examinations and a schedule is likely to be soon announced.
“The board exams will happen for sure and a schedule will be announced very soon. The CBSE is making plans and will soon reveal how it will do test assessments,” CBSE secretary Anurag Tripathi said at a webinar on November 20.
His remarks came amid demands from several quarters to cancel or postpone the board examinations because of the pandemic. Several people have demanded the board exams be postponed to May as schools have not opened for months and teaching-learning activities have completely shifted online.
Tripathi, however, did not shed light on whether the exams will be conducted in the usual format or whether it will be held in February-March or later.
"In March-April, we were flummoxed as to how to move forward but our schools and teachers rose to the occasion and transformed and trained themselves in a few months to use new technology for teaching conducting online classes,” the secretary said.
