CBSE introduces new Facial Recognition System for students to access documents digitally

The software will send class X and XII students their documents via email, but only after matching their live image with a photograph stored in CBSE’s official database.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced a new ‘Facial Recognition System’ for students to access their documents digitally. This software will allow class X and XII students to download their documents such as marksheets, pass and migration certificates, but only after matching their live image with a digital image stored in CBSE’s database.

The live image of the candidate will be matched with the photograph on the student’s admit card. When the verification is successful, the certificate will be sent across through an email.

Till now, CBSE has already processed 12 crore digital academic documents, and this newly introduced software will prove to be useful for foreign students, as well as those who cannot open a DigiLocker account for technical reasons.
