The notification for the postgraduate departments and affiliated colleges has been posted on CU’s official website.
The University of Calcutta (CU) has directed all its departments and affiliated colleges offering postgraduate courses to start online or electronic mode of teaching for the third semester. Academic sessions in most universities and institutes around the country have suffered a delay, and the varsity took this decision because campus classes are not really an option due to stringent social distancing norms.
Dr. Amit Ray, Secretary of Faculty Councils for Post-Graduate Studies in Science, Technology & Engineering, Agriculture & Veterinary Science, has requested all the point persons under the faculty of Science, Engg. & Technology, Agriculture and Home Science to start the process of online teaching for the third semester. DR Dandapat, secretary, UCAC (Actg.) and Dr Pijuskanti Panigrahi, secretary ACTG, have also instructed their concerned point persons to do the same. In the law department, Professor Dr J.K. Das, asked all concerned colleges under CU to start online classes for the Semesters 2,4,6,8 and 10 of the 5/3 year BA LLB (including hons.)
CU on July 24 had issued a notification on its official website for the application for admission to the undergraduate (UG) courses. The admission schedule for the B.A, B.Sc, B.Com (Honours, General, Major), B.Mus (Honours, General), B.B.A (Honours) courses of studies for the academic session 2020-2021, available on the university website.
According to the statement, the online UG course admission process will start from August 10.
The notification said, “Candidates who passed HS (10+2) Examination conducted by the WBCHSE or its equivalent Examination are eligible to seek admission to the 1st semester of the above-mentioned Courses of Studies provided he or she has also passed in English having full marks not being less than 100.”
