The 27-member committee has formed five expert groups to work independently on implementation reports, which will be submitted by November-end
The Goa government’s committee responsible for preparing a roadmap for the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020’s implementation will submit its final report by March 2021. Former Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, who is heading the 27-member-committee, said that five expert groups have been formed to work independently on this roadmap, and they will all be turning in their reports by the end of November, following which the committee will decide on the final report to be submitted by next March.
According to Parsekar, the committee is likely to suggest that at least one year from each of the six phases of education under NEP 2020 should begin from the next academic year, in order to ensure that the policy gets completely implemented within five years.
The committee does not have the power to amend the NEP. It will play an advisory role, to ensure its smooth implementation in the state, by considering local factors.
