Applications for the first cohort due to start in June 2021 now open
The International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad, has launched an online postgraduate certificate course in Internet of Things (IoT) and smart analytics in partnership with TalentSprint, an NSE Group company. Applications for the first cohort due to start in June 2021 are open.
The nine-month programme will be taught through live, interactive online classes, capstones and hackathons conducted by a faculty team leading the institute’s Smart City research, who will go on to mentor the students when they apply their learnings to industry projects. Students will also receive experiential learning with an IoT kit through which they can create, test, and validate their IoT ideas. A few outstanding projects might receive the opportunity to be tested and deployed at the IIIT Hyderabad Living Lab.
The course has been curated for both IoT engineers interested in mastering analytics and tech professionals and managers from industries disrupted by heavy IoT adoption. A few fresh graduates will also be allowed to join the programme.
An official statement highlighted the massive market for IoT transformation with an existing installed base of over five billion smartphones, more than two billion personal computers and one billion tablets. It also emphasised on how nearly 75 per cent of IoT projects take twice as long to complete despite being top priority due to talent shortage, generating a critical demand for experts in IoT technologies and processes who can fulfil ambitions of interconnectivity.
