Course to enhance technological skills in youth
The Electronics and ICT Academy of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has joined hands with ‘Great Learning’, an edutech company by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to launch an online certification course in software development, cloud computing and data science.
The initiative will offer two kinds of programmes to students, including an advanced certificate program in full stack software development for a duration of ten months with the specialisation in either cloud computing or python for data science. There will be courses of shorter durations on topics such as front-end software development, back-end software development, cloud computing and python for data science.
These programmes will be beneficial in enhancing a student’s career in accordance with the industry and the IT scenario. These courses will be taught by experts from IIT Roorkee, other academic institutions, and industry experts through online, or blended mode.
According to the institute, the programme will follow a delivery model comprising online content, weekend live sessions, along with practical projects.
Ajit K Chaturvedi, director, IIT Roorkee said that technological skills are required to enhance the country’s workforce. The two institutes will strive to shape young talents through transformational education.
