Candidates must submit a declaration if do not have a valid certificate at the time of registration
Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates applying for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2021 will have to submit a declaration if they don’t have a valid OBC-NCL/EWS certificate issued after April 1, 2021.
The declaration will be considered valid till the registration but candidates must upload a valid certificate on the exam portal by 5pm on October 2, 2021, according to a circular issued by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur.
“If you do not possess a VALID OBC-NCL/EWS certificate issued after April 01, 2021, you may submit a declaration in place of the certificate. However, you MUST upload a VALID certificate (issued after April 1, 2021) by October 2, 2021, 17:00 IST in the online portal,” said the notice posted on the website.
JEE Advanced 2021 will be conducted by IIT Kharagpur on October 3. The online registration window for the exam will close on September 20. Candidates can pay the application fee online till September 21.
Around 2.5 lakh candidates are expected to write the exam this year for admission to various IITs.
