The results for the Union Public Service Commission exam for the prestigious civil services including Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) have been declared on Tuesday.
Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Pradeep Singh, a resident of Haryana, has topped the list of 829 candidates. Singh, 29, is a 2019-batch IRS officer currently serving the probation period at the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes, and Narcotics (NACIN), Faridabad.
Expressing his gratification, Singh told PTI that he will be working for the deprived section of the society. He would be improving education and farm sectors as he has become the part of most sought-after Indian Administrative Service.
“It is like a dream come true. It is a pleasant surprise for me. I always wanted to be an IAS officer. I would like to work for the deprived sections of society," he said. Singh further added, "I have opted for my home state Haryana as the preferred cadre state for the IAS. I am happy that I will now get the chance to work for my state.”
Among the other two from the top three rank holders is 26-year old Jatin Kishore. A native of Delhi, Kishore is a 2018-batch Indian Economic Service (IES) officer. Currently, he is associated with the Ministry of Rural Development as an Assistant Director.
