School to be constructed with a budget of Rs 2.5 crore
Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma laid the foundation stone for a new government higher secondary school in North Garo Hills district on February 22.
Sangma, who also laid foundation stones for a bridge and a mini stadium, said this initiative will uplift the economy with royalty and taxes. The bridge will benefit 4,000 villagers through better transportation facilities, lesser time in commutation and easy transport of different agricultural and horticultural products.
The foundation for the new Resubelpara government higher secondary school will expedite teaching standards in the state. The government has arranged a fund of Rs 2.5 crores for the school.
The event was also attended by deputy speaker Timothy D Shira and Bajengdoba MLA Pongseng Marak.
