Akanksha Singh, a girl from a small village in Uttar Pradesh, has become one of the two students to score a perfect 720/720 in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Undergraduate (UG) 2020.
Akanksha topped the exam along with Soyeb Aftab of Odisha with a perfect score, but Soyeb secured the All India number one rank, according to the tie-breaking policy, as he is the older student.
Daughter of a retired Air Force sergeant and a primary school teacher, Akanksha told The Hindu that she wants to specialise in neurosurgery research. Earlier she wanted to become an IAS officer but later she decided to become a doctor. Her ambition is to benefit people through her research.
She studied till Class 10 from her hometown and then moved to Delhi with her father to complete her Class 11 and 12 studies. She credits her parents for the achievement.
