First organised in 1972, the 2022-edition of NDWBF will also be its 50th year
According to the National Book trust (NBT), New Delhi will get to experience the much-awaited event - the New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF) from January 8-16, 2022.
It will be held at Pragati Maidan and the theme will be “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” to celebrate the country’s independence of 75 years.
The fair will see various panel discussions, books, photo exhibitions, book releases and discussions at the theme pavilion. The first NDWBF was organised in 1972 and it will celebrate its 50th year at the 2022-edition with a photo exhibition.
France is said to be the guest country for the fair and book lovers will be able to enjoy literature from France as well as other countries at the Foreign Pavilion, and a number of literary events will also take place at the International Events Corner.
According to the NBT, NDWBF organises a number of literary and cultural programmes during the Fair, which include authors’ corners, seminars, discussions and workshops. There will also be the business-to-business (B2B) forums, CeoSpeak and New Delhi Rights Table, where publishers from across the world exchange translation rights and other business deals related to publishing.
A special Children's Authors' Corner and the Yuva Corner will be put up for young talents at the festival.
