Matter posted for further hearing on January 25
The Centre informed the Supreme Court on Friday that no extra chances would be provided to candidates who couldn’t appear for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams on October 4, 2020 due to the Covid-19 situation. The decision was announced during the hearing of a petition filed by aspirants requesting for extra chances, keeping the pandemic in mind.
The matter has been posted for further hearing on January 25. However, the Apex court has asked the Centre to file an affidavit with reference to the decision.
Around 10.58 lakh students had registered for the UPSC prelims. The exams were held adhering to Covid-19 guidelines safety guidelines as issued by the authorities.
