Odisha education minister reviews situation after schools reopen

After the reopening of educational institutes in a phased manner, the Odisha school and mass education minister, Samir Ranjan Dash reviewed the situation in schools in the State. He visited several district schools to check whether COVID-19 guidelines are being followed in the schools are not. 

The minister said that the Odisha government had reduced the syllabus by 30% in schools. The school authority said that the classes are being conducted in a coordinated manner following all the guidelines instructed by the State government, he added.

Odisha schools for classes X and XII reopened from January 8, while colleges and universities for final-year students resumed from January 11.

The Odisha government had instructed the Health and Family Welfare Department to conduct frequent health checkups in educational institutions and hostels as a preventive against any possible large outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
