Training field to be set up for kabaddi, football, throwball, martial arts, aerobics and badminton
Mangalore University will offer physical education as part of the uncergraduate syllabus. Students will be trained in various aspects of fitness, lifestyle management and wellness.
Physical education will be introduced as an elective subject from the upcoming academic year. Dean Kishore Kumar C.K. said the idea was part of the #FitIndia initiative.
Physical education was already a part of postgraduate courses at the university. But now the faculty has stepped up in to introduce it in the fourth semester at the undergraduate level as well.
The training field shall be set up for practice events in kabaddi, football, throwball, martial arts, aerobics and indoor sports such as badminton.
The teachers will motivate students to take up physical education seriously and remain fit.
