The St Xavier’s College, Kolkata, has commenced its undergraduate admission procedure for the 2020-21 academic year. The autonomous institution started its online application process on July 14, and it will continue till August 30. With this development, SXC is the first college in Kolkata to commence the process of undergraduate admissions. The college will take students in for 15 undergraduate courses, including English, Economics, Commerce, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Sociology and Microbiology.
Declaring the eligibility criteria to apply for any course, the website states that a student must obtain 60% in aggregate in the best of four subjects, including the subject one is opting for. A minimum 45% is needed in each of the four subjects. The final selection will be done on the basis of indexed marks to be enumerated differently for each course. The index marks to be secured by each of the selected students will be written against their names on the merit list. For English, a student must have 60% marks in the aggregate of four subjects, including English. For Economics, a student must have 60% marks in the aggregate of four subjects, including Mathematics.
To enumerate the index marks of an applicant who wants to get admission to management studies, 50% marks will be on the basis of the performance in the Class XII board exams, 25% on Mathematics and 25% on English.

CISCE and the CBSE have declared the Class XII board exam results, and the West Bengal Higher Secondary results are expected on Friday.
