Department to issue elaborate guidelines in 2-3 days
The technical education department in Uttar Pradesh will issue elaborate guidelines on the status of exams in 2-3 days, an official stated.
The announcement came after several management, engineering, and pharma students took to social media expressing concerns over the issue.
Technical education secretary Alok Kumar said the status of the exams in the state would most likely be declared in 2-3 days.
Online exams for final-year BTech students are unlikely before mid-July. For first-year students, the exams are most likely to be held in August, he added.
Kumar also said the department was trying its best to conduct online objective-type exams. The staff are developing software that can be accessed from all types of devices so that students can write their examinations from the comfort of their home, he added.
The Uttar Pradesh government has also decided to promote all first-year and first-semester students of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in universities and degree colleges across the state without exams amid the COVID-19 crisis.
BTech and BPharma first-year students have also demanded to be promoted without exams.
