Teachers will now have to ‘earn’ factors to get promotions or raises
The Uttar Pradesh fundamental training division will introduce a system of ‘corporate appraisal’ for teachers and principals in primary schools.
Teachers will now have to ‘earn’ factors to get promotion in job or increment in wages.
According to the State government spokesperson, the fundamental training division has requested teachers and head teachers to fill in a self-analysis form based mostly on the nine parameters on the Manav Sampada portal by April 15, 2021.
While seven performance indicators are the same for teachers and school heads, two are different.
In the self-evaluation, head teachers will have to provide information on upgrades of infrastructure and facilities supplied within the school under Operation Kayakalp programme.
If all 14 fundamental services curated by the chief minister’s team are within the school, the head teacher will probably be awarded 10 factors. In the absence of a single facility, he/she will get no point. Head teachers will also be judged on whether or not they have made report cards available to the students. If all students have been provided report cards, 10 points will be given to the head teachers.
Teachers will be judged on the number of out-of-school-children they have identified and enrolled. If all such students are in class, he/she is going to get 10 factors.
An essential parameter to assess the teachers will probably be their participation in training programmes. Those who’ve attended full training sessions of Nishtha, a capability building programme, will get 10 factors.
The seven widespread parameters for teachers and school heads include use of Diksha portal, regular participation in meetings of the school administration committees, use of libraries by students, and grades achieved by students.
