Indian-origin businessmen in Madagascar join hands to build schools

Heads of 12 major companies in Madagascar have come forward to VISEO Foundation’s call for funds to build schools in the capital city of Antananarivo. 

The businessmen, who have ancestral roots in Gujarat, have pledged more than half a million USD for the construction and rehabilitation of 15 primary schools. The pledge was made in the presence of Naina Andriantsitohaina, Mayor of the Urban Commune of Antananarivo, Indian Ambassador Abhay Kumar, and Fresh Ambassador Christophe Bouchard. 

The 20,000-strong Indian community in Madagascar plays a major role in the country’s economy and society, and has expressed solidarity in times of health and economic crisis.

The VISEO Foundation brings together over 700 employees across the country and maintains a business flow with over 50 international partners.
